Coenzyme B12 according to Dr. med. Michalzik
contains exclusively vitamin B12 in its biologically active form. This is methylcobalamin, in contrast to the commonly offered cyanocobalamin.

Cyanocobalamin must be converted in the body into methylcobalamin via several metabolic steps, as it is not effective in itself. The cyano group remaining from the conversion process is not unproblematic. Particularly in smokers, this can cause issues.

Methylcobalamin, on the other hand, is directly effective and leaves no remaining chemical residue. The sublingual dosage form is intended to counteract reduced absorption via the gastrointestinal tract (stomach-intestinal tract). The absorption of vitamin B12 via the gastrointestinal tract requires a so-called “intrinsic factor”. A deficiency of the “intrinsic factor” can lead to dangerously low vitamin B12 levels. The also available hydroxycobalamin is an intermediate stage from cyanocobalamin to methylcobalamin. Hydroxycobalamin therefore also still needs to be converted into methylcobalamin. This requires glutathione and SAMe.

Coenzyme B12 is the term for biologically active vitamin B12. Coenzymes are essential components of the body’s own enzymes that catalyze important metabolic pathways.

Coenzyme B12 according to Dr. med. Michalzik is high-dose. It contains 5,000% of the reference intake (NRV) for daily intake according to the LMIV per daily dose.
